On 15th June 2013 (Saturday), I was invited to the Vanity Trove x Avène Pick Carpet Beauty Workshop.
Thank you so much Vanity Trove for the cordial invitation! I'm really sorry for only posting this now. There are just too many pending blog posts in my drafts currently with a very short period of time (╯﹏╰)
Just a brief note, Vanity Trove is actually the leading exquisite beauty box brand in Malaysia. Vanity Trove provides all sorts of various luxury beauty and branded cosmetic treats for RM50 only! Click HERE to read my previous blog post regarding Vanity Trove and how to be VT's Beauty member!
And so, back to the Pink Carpet Beauty Workshop. This is actually my second time attending events held by Vanity Trove. The event took place on a lovely morning in Café Barbera, Bangsar. Since I'm not really familiar with the roads to Bangsar, I decided to car pool and sit in Janice's car, another beauty blogger friend of mine (✿◠‿◠) Teehee. Thank you so much for the ride, Janice!
We arrive at Café Barbera just in time before the event start. The VT and Avène banners welcomed us as we step inside the cafe.
I was pretty amused by the design of the cafe itself. The exterior and interior design was so much different than the cafes I usually see around my place.
As we entered the cafe, there were already several bloggers who were there. Janice and I immediately seat accordingly in our preferred table. And surprisingly, each table was occupied with these stuffs!
WHAT ARE WE GONNA DOOOOOOO?
Keep reading to find out hahahahah \ (◠▽◠) / I was actually looking forward to meet the Vanity Trove team because they've been indeed a very hardworking yet efficient team as they continuously provide each and every beautyholic's trove with much care and attention. I'm pretty pleased to be able to catch up with Valerie and Kiki from the VT team. They're so friendly! (◡‿◡✿
The Pink Carpet Beauty Workshop kick start with warm welcome greetings from both Vanity Trove and Avène. There was also a short introduction talk on Avène and its products. During the talk, one of the Avène representative tells us that we can actually drink the Avène water since it's a thermal spring water!! I was like "WTF!!!! SERIOUS SHIT??" ʘ﹏ʘ" A little bit unbelievable, right? I was feeling the same thing at first, until when they showed us this video:-
At first, I was a bit shocked and I find it hard to believe that a brand would be that good. I mean, I've heard good reviews on Avène before, especially coming from my own relatives. But there wasn't the urge to check out Avène's products not until I attended this event. I kept asking myself, "How good can Avène's products be?". Remember the picture of the plastic basin of water and sponge you saw in the previous photo? Yup, guess what? We're going to remove our makeups. On. The. Spot. (╥﹏╥)
One selca I took before I remove all of my makeup LOL. Luckily I only applied light makeup to the Pink Carpet Beauty Workshop. Still, I have zero confidence on my bare face because there was this huge zit that decides to ripe on my face just before I was about to prepare for this event in the morning. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ
Look at all the mini bottles on each of our tables! There was a variety range of skin care for all the beauty bloggers to pick from; Hypersensitive, Dry, Normal to Combination, Oily, Oily & Blemished, and Very Dry.
The moisturizers which was still sealed in its pack. It's pretty fun because it's a hands-on event where we're going to remove our makeup to test and personally experience Avène's products. Plus, we get to choose and use products which are suitable for our own skin type.
Avène Cleansing & Make-up Remover Micellar Lotion.
This makeup remover is suitable for all skin types and contains 96% of Avène Thermal Spring Water to calm skin tightness and redness. The best part of all, this makeup remover is a water-based makeup remover. Most of the makeup remover we purchase are usually oil-based and it could irritate the skin if you do not use it with care. I have faced several skin irritation before when I used other brands' makeup remover :( Luckily, Avène's one makeup remover is a water-base which makes the task much easier!
Avène Gentle Gel Cleanser.
After removing our makeup, we have to cleanse our skin. And because my skin type is normal to combination, I decided to use Avène's Gentle Gel Cleanser. *pat pat pat* *looks at mirror* *scrub scrub scrub* TEEHEE.
Avène Thermal Spring Water.
After cleansing our skin, I washed off the residue using the sponge and water in the plastic basin provided. Next step would be using the renowned Thermal Spring Water!! *ecstatic* Guess what? We're using Avène's Thermal Spring Water to do a facial mask! I was quite blur at first because I didn't know that we could use the spring water to apply it as a mask. All you have to do, is to spray a generous amount of Avène's Thermal Spring Water on a facial paper mask and you can put it on your face immediately.
It's been forever since I last applied mask LOLOLOL. I'm not really a big fan of mask cuz I find it very troublesome. But I decided to give Avène's Thermal Spring Water Mask a go. And just look at funny face ahahaha. Janice said my face is so small because there were still a lot of space on the mask LOL.
Janice dulan me because I've been fooling around with her during the entire workshop HAHA. No lahh just kidding hahahahahahaha. See, other bloggers are also having fun pampering themselves. Okay, the trouble comes here. About 15 minutes later, each of us had to remove the mask. And upon removal, I felt as if there was a slight stinging on my skin.
I tried to not think too much, but I panicked in time. I don't think I can be a perfect leader in any case since I panic easily LOL. I immediately asked one of the Avène representatives on what is actually happening and why am I feeling the stingynesssss? I used to have sensitive skin and I thought that was the main reason why I felt the stinging sensation. I was so afraid OK!!!!!!! ಥ_ಥ
Luckily, the Avène representative told me that it's actually something normal. She explained that Avène Thermal Spring Water is an active water with unique composition and that my skin is not used to active water because my skincare products at home are all bland-like. She also said that the stinging sensation will only last for one or two minutes and true enough, the stinging sensation didn't come back! There was also a soothing. cooling feeling on my skin later on which reassures me (◡‿◡✿) Feels so pampering hehehe.
Avène Skin Recovery Cream
Used Avène's Skin Recovery Cream as the moisturizer and not to forget the final step; Sunblock! I applied Avène's Very High Protection Tinted Cream SPF 50+ . There was also a free skin analysis session by Avène's beautician and they used this gun-like thingy to scan my skin. When I saw a close-up of my own skin on the screen, I was so terrified. I admit I have obvious blackheads on my nose but at close-up, I feel like puking errmahgerdddd. The beautician advised me to use Avène's Cleanance K to get rid of the stubbon blackheads. I think I'll try Cleanance K this time because I've used the b.liv by Cellnique before and there wasn't any obvious results. I have super stubborn blackheads! （ つ﹏╰）
Took this picture while waiting for my turn for the skin analysis. Me fat thighs and killer heels.
(left to right) Me and Winnie from Vanity Trove
So happy I finally managed to take a picture with Winnie. But DAFUQ I look so not me!!! Blame the hair and bare face ahahahaha. There were some bloggers who re-apply their make-up after the workshop but I was too lazy so I didn't bother to apply back my make-up.
I think I'm starting to develop feelings for Avène's products *wink*
One last picture before the Vanity Trove x Avène Pink Carpet Beauty Workshop ended. I will not wink anymore in any future pictures because I can't accept the way I look when I'm winking LOL. Outfit of the day;

Black Cotton Jacket: m n a
Leopard Sling Clutch: Frock-ON

And I also come across this video on Avène's products which I find it pretty interesting as it talks about how our everyday skincare products could affect our skin condition. Do watch the video below if you would want to learn more on how to protect and give the best to your skin \(^◡^ )/
